This has to be done in a well vented environment, e.g. outside.

Firstly I didn't expect the reaction to go so vigorously and the pressure build up was excessive.
An electric 12 Volt igniter was used to trigger the chemical reaction.

Mix: 360 g KNO3 , 240 g White sugar , 50 g candle wax, 150 g iron sand.
